    Sean's curriculum design philosophy is extreme granularity. When he was learning to create signature talks, he noticed that trainers would teach the overall sequence but skip the nuances -- like the five micro-steps within an introduction. "I was like, why are they not getting into the granular? Because that introduction is so important," he explains. So his own programs break every element into fill-in-the-blank micro-steps. Students get scripts, workbooks, and templates that walk them through each piece. Training videos provide the overview, then the workbooks take students deeper. He also uses video breakdowns of his own stage performances, "freeze-framing" specific moments to show students how to handle transitions, offers, and staying present during high-pressure sales sections.

    "When I dug into it, I was confused. There were nuances in how they would present the introduction, and there were like five little micro steps. I was like, why are they not getting into the granular? Because that introduction is so important."

    Freestyle Rapping as a Teaching Tool

    The turning point came at a Zumba class with his wife. Sean realized he was not bringing enough of that kinetic, expressive energy into his course. So he created "alignment calls" where students dance, do movement exercises, perform visualizations, and freestyle rap. The rap process is simple: a beat plays, the only rule is you do not stop, and rhyming does not matter. "The best raps are really when it doesn't rhyme. And you just say something from the heart over the beat. Because the truth is that we're always on time if we just keep moving forward," he explains. The practice breaks participants out of the overthinking and perfectionism that kills authentic communication. Danny noted the broader principle in the debrief: "Learning is not fundamentally something that happens just in your brain. We are embodied beings. When we get too stuck in our head, we're actually more disconnected from what we're learning."

    The Profit Center Group Model: High-Ticket First, Course Second

    Sean teaches what he calls the "profit center group model" -- a hybrid of course content, group coaching, and one-on-one work. His strategic advice to other course creators is counterintuitive: start with a high-ticket group offer as your primary revenue generator, not a self-paced course. The course becomes the backbone of the group program, and once the high-ticket model generates stable revenue, you can then extract the course component and sell it separately as a self-paced product. This sequence matters because the group model generates revenue faster through high-ticket sales, gives you margin to deliver real support, and the course content naturally gets refined through live delivery before you package it for self-study. Sean also sequences his students carefully: viability first (ideal client, offer, proof of concept), then integration of creative gifts into branding and messaging.

    "When people are looking to create revenue quicker, the idea of having a high-ticket group offer as your profit center automatically creates the course at the same time, because the course is the backbone of the group."

    Break your content into fill-in-the-blank micro-steps

    Identify the areas where students get stuck and add more granular breakdowns with scripts, templates, and workbooks. Sean's approach leaves no room for guessing: every major skill is decomposed into micro-steps that students can follow sequentially.

    Add an embodied or creative exercise to your course

    It does not have to be freestyle rapping. Find any activity that gets students out of their heads and into their bodies -- movement, music, improvisation, drawing, or physical challenges. The goal is to break through perfectionism and reconnect students with their authentic energy.

    Start with a high-ticket group model, then extract the course

    Rather than building a self-paced course from scratch, deliver your content first through a high-ticket group program with live support. Once refined through live delivery, extract the course component as a separate, lower-priced self-study product.
